Implantation

WE RECOMMEND TO USE COHESIVE VISCOELASTIC SOLUTIONS ALREADY FOR PHACOEMULSIFICATION AND AVOID DISPERSIVE OR MIXED TYPES.

Dispersive materials with short molecular chains tear to small parts when being aspirated. These can remain in the capsule and behind the lens after implantation and cause complications, i.e. opaciofication or optical phenomena.

Push the lens all the way to the opening of the cartridge tunnel. Most of viscoelastic solution leaks out from the tunnel.

Insert the implantation cone of the cartridge in the corneal tunnel so that the edge of the cartridge is placed beyond the pupil and the cone is directed towardthe distal side of capsular bag. Gently push the plunger, the lens unfolds directly into the distal side of capsular bag.

Subsequently, run the irrigation and aspirate thoroughly the viscoelastic material from below the lens and then from the anterior chamber above the lens. Make sure, that the viscoelastic material has been completely removed from below the posterior surface of WIOL-CF®.
